Six year old Marek Stehelin knows what it’s like to lose his hair. Diagnosed with cancer at just two and a half, Marek has spent a total of 496 nights at Ronald McDonald House BC and Yukon.
For Marek and his mom Amanda, Ronald McDonald House has become a community of support. They are forever grateful for having space to play and the support of volunteers and lifelong friends they made at the House.
Now, Marek is back home in Whitehorse and is paying it forward. Since he completed his intensive treatment, he has been growing his hair to donate to someone who needs it. April 11th is the big day when Marek will cut his hair like Thor and make his donation.
And even when the haircut is over…the journey isn’t! Marek will need to return to Vancouver for treatment until he is 18, and he is collecting donations all year long to support families like his at Ronald McDonald House. Support Marek and give today!
